Henley Royal Regatta 2026

The Henley Royal Regatta is one of the most iconic events in the British summer calendar. Founded in 1839, it takes place annually on the River Thames in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. The 2026 Regatta runs from Tuesday 30 June to Sunday 5 July.

Over 300 head-to-head rowing races are held across six days, featuring elite international crews alongside university and club competitors. But Henley is far more than a sporting event — it is a quintessentially English social occasion celebrated with champagne, fine dining and immaculate riverside style.

Approximately 300,000 spectators attend across the week, with Thursday and Saturday being the most popular days for corporate hospitality.

Getting to Henley by Chauffeur

Henley-on-Thames is located approximately 40 miles west of Central London. The most common route is via the M4 to Junction 8/9, then the A404(M) and A4130 directly into Henley. Under normal conditions, the journey takes about 60 minutes.

During Regatta week, the final approach into Henley becomes congested from mid-morning. The town’s narrow streets and limited bridge crossings create bottlenecks, particularly along the A4130 and around the town centre.

Our chauffeurs know the alternative approach routes — including the back roads through the Chiltern Hills that bypass the worst of the congestion — and will select the fastest route on the day based on real-time conditions.

Henley Enclosures and Dress Code

Stewards’ Enclosure — Members and their guests only. The strictest dress code at any British sporting event. Gentlemen must wear a lounge suit, or blazer with flannel trousers, and a tie or cravat. Ladies must wear a dress or skirt below the knee with a hat or substantial fascinator. No trouser suits. Arriving by chauffeur ensures you step out immaculate — no wrinkled blazers from a hot train journey.

Regatta Enclosure — Open to the public with tickets. Smart dress is expected. Gentlemen should wear a jacket and tie; ladies should wear smart daywear. This enclosure offers excellent views of the course and a lively atmosphere.

Riverside — General admission along the riverbank. No formal dress code, though most visitors dress smartly. A popular option for groups and a more relaxed atmosphere.

A chauffeur-driven arrival sets the tone for your day at Henley. Step out of a Range Rover on the riverside looking exactly as you intended — no creased linen, no rushing from the station, no searching for parking in a muddy field.
