The 2026 British Grand Prix at Silverstone

The Formula 1 Pirelli British Grand Prix is the highlight of the British motorsport calendar and one of the most iconic races on the F1 circuit. The 2026 edition takes place from Friday 3 July to Sunday 5 July at Silverstone Circuit in Northamptonshire.

Over 140,000 spectators attend on race Sunday alone, making it one of the largest single-day sporting events in the United Kingdom. The weekend includes practice sessions on Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

Silverstone Circuit is located approximately 70 miles north-west of Central London — a journey that requires careful planning on race weekend, when surrounding roads experience some of the heaviest traffic of the year.

Getting to Silverstone by Chauffeur

Under normal conditions, the journey from Mayfair to Silverstone takes approximately 90 minutes via the M40 northbound to the A43, or via the M1 to the A43 depending on traffic patterns.

On race Sunday, the final 5 to 10 miles of approach roads can add 60 minutes or more to the journey. Traffic management around the circuit channels thousands of vehicles through narrow country roads, and without local knowledge, the congestion can be severe.

Our chauffeurs have detailed experience of the Silverstone road network. We pre-plan the approach route based on your specific gate assignment, use real-time traffic data to select the best motorway route, and know the local alternatives that many GPS systems do not suggest.

We recommend departing London by 7:00am on race Sunday for a gates-open arrival. For Friday practice and Saturday qualifying, an 8:00am departure is usually sufficient.

Arrival and Departure at Silverstone

Silverstone has multiple entrance gates spread around the circuit perimeter. Your assigned gate depends on your ticket type and grandstand location. We confirm your gate in advance and plan the approach route specifically for that entrance.

The most critical part of the Silverstone experience is the departure. Post-race traffic is notorious — it can take two hours or more to leave the circuit car parks and reach the motorway. A pre-positioned chauffeur minimises your wait and gets you onto the road ahead of the main traffic flow.

Your chauffeur monitors the race in real time and begins positioning the vehicle as the final laps approach. When you are ready to leave, your car is waiting.

Silverstone Race Weekend Information

What time should I arrive at Silverstone? Gates typically open at 6:30am on race Sunday. Most spectators arrive between 7:30 and 9:30am. We recommend arriving by 9:00am to allow time for security screening and reaching your grandstand before the support races begin.

What can I bring into Silverstone? Small bags and soft coolers are generally permitted. Glass bottles and large umbrellas are not allowed. Check the Silverstone website for the latest prohibited items list before your visit.

What happens if it rains? The race goes ahead in all weather conditions. Silverstone is an open-air circuit with no covered grandstands on most sections. Your chauffeur will have the vehicle warm and dry for your departure regardless of conditions.

Is there phone signal at Silverstone? Mobile signal can be unreliable due to the volume of people. We recommend agreeing a collection point and time with your chauffeur in advance, with a backup plan via text message.

Can I attend just one day or should I book the full weekend? Both options are available. Race Sunday is the main event, but Friday practice and Saturday qualifying offer a more relaxed atmosphere with shorter queues and easier access.

Select from our fleet of luxury chauffeur-driven vehicles. For large events requiring multiple vehicles, we can deploy up to 300 cars simultaneously.
