Getting to Wimbledon by Chauffeur

The All England Lawn Tennis Club is located on Church Road in Wimbledon, approximately 8 miles south-west of Mayfair. Under normal traffic conditions, the journey takes around 30 to 40 minutes.

During the Championships, however, the roads around Wimbledon experience significant congestion. The A219 through Wimbledon Village, Parkside, and Church Road can add 20 to 30 minutes to the journey during peak arrivals between 10:00 and 12:00.

Our chauffeurs plan every Wimbledon journey using real-time traffic data and detailed knowledge of the local road network. We know which approach roads are quickest at different times of day, which residential streets to avoid, and where the most efficient drop-off points are located.

We recommend departing Central London at least 60 to 90 minutes before your session begins. For a midday start on Centre Court, a 10:00am departure from Mayfair is ideal.

Drop-off and Collection Points

Wimbledon has multiple entry gates along Church Road and Somerset Road. The best gate for you depends on which court you are attending and whether you hold standard tickets or Debenture hospitality passes.

Gate 1 on Church Road is the main entrance and the closest access point to Centre Court and Court 1. This is the most popular drop-off location but also the busiest.

Gate 5 on Somerset Road is quieter and often faster during peak arrival times. It provides good access to the outer courts and the southern end of the grounds.

Our chauffeur will confirm the optimal drop-off point with you in advance based on your tickets and schedule. On the day, your chauffeur will navigate directly to the agreed gate, assist with any bags, and ensure a smooth handover.

For your departure, simply message your chauffeur when you are ready to leave. Your vehicle will be brought to the nearest collection point — typically within 5 to 10 minutes during the Championships.

Wimbledon Visitor Information

What time do gates open at Wimbledon? Gates typically open at 10:30am for ticket holders. The Debenture entrance opens slightly earlier. We recommend arriving between 10:30 and 11:30 for the best experience.

What is the dress code for Wimbledon? There is no formal dress code for general admission. Smart casual is appropriate for most areas. The Debenture Lounges and Royal Box have a smarter dress code — gentlemen typically wear a jacket and ladies wear summer dresses or smart separates.

Can you bring food and drink into Wimbledon? Yes. You are permitted to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks into the grounds. Alcohol purchased inside the grounds is widely available.

How long does a day at Wimbledon last? Play on the outside courts typically starts at 11:00am and finishes around 8:00pm. Centre Court play begins at 1:30pm and can continue until 11:00pm under the roof.

What happens if it rains? Centre Court and Court 1 have retractable roofs, so play continues. On outer courts, there may be delays. Your chauffeur remains on standby regardless of weather delays — there is no additional charge.

Why Choose Us

Benefits of Black Car Service

No Parking Available

The All England Club does not offer public parking. Street parking in the surrounding area is heavily restricted during the Championships. A chauffeur eliminates this problem entirely

Avoid Overcrowded Transport

The District Line to Southfields and South Western Railway to Wimbledon station are extremely busy during the tournament. A chauffeur provides a calm, private alternative.

Enjoy the Champagne

Wimbledon is as much about the hospitality as the tennis. Enjoy every glass without giving a second thought to the journey home.

Perfect for Corporate Hospitality

If you are hosting clients in the Debenture Lounges or corporate hospitality areas, a chauffeur-driven arrival sets the tone for the entire day.

Flexible Departure

Rain delays, five-set thrillers, or simply wanting to catch one more match — your chauffeur waits for as long as you need. No rushing to catch the last train.

Comfortable Return Journey

After a long day of tennis in the summer heat, the last thing you want is a crowded tube. Step into an air-conditioned Mercedes or Range Rover and relax.
